Een zicht op een paradijselijk oord in de vorm van een aardnoot, met nog slechts één palmboom. Het eilandje is een van de 'Hog Islands' voor de kust van Honduras, het laatste dat nog toegankelijk was voor de plaatselijke Garífuna vissers.
Eerder schreef ik: “The small island (cay) of Cacahuate on the Honduran North coast is threatened in the name of the protection of nature. Instead of garífunas there will be ecological tourists in the future. Apparently the ones have to go for the others. That's what i have read and it saddened me.”
Ik bracht een cruciale avond van mijn leven door op dit eilandje. Als ik er aan terug denk lijkt alles wat daarna kwam een geschenk.
